Malcolm Smith re-attaching my front fender. We were riding along together when he looked down and said "your fender is falling off." Sure enough, I had lost the two front bolts. Malcolm immediately produced two perfect bolts to re-attach it.
I learn at least three cool tricks from him every year. This was the first for 2001. Fill every empty tapped spot on your frame with spare bolts, washers and nuts. I filled every available spot on my frame that night when we arrived at the Old Mill in San Quintin.
