We stayied the first few days at the Royal Horseguards Hotel, in the heart of Whitehall, the center of government in London. This statue was just outside the hotel entrance, which you can see in the background. The inscription reads "From blood, through mud, to the green fields beyond." The wreaths are red poppies from November 11, rememberence day for all UK veterans.
