Hertford County Map Information

Joseph Hackney (1651-1737), one of the earliest Hackney ancestors that I have been able to locate, was born in Hemel Hempstead, Hertford County, England.

Over the course of several trips to London, and long searches through various antique map stores, I finally located a copy of a period map of Hertford County at a stall at the Portobello Road market.

The map is a lithograph made in 1882 and measures approximately 8 x 7 inches.
